What would you do to save your vision?
2 in 3 Canadians would cash in everything they own to save their eyesight, but about 75% of all vision loss is avoidable just through regular eye exams and preventative measures.1 It’s all in your hands, but we can help.
Regular Eye Exams
Eye exams don’t just test for vision, we also screen for eye diseases such as macular degeneration and glaucoma as well as more general health conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, some vascular diseases, and even certain cancers.
Work Safety
Eye protection is critical on job sites. In fact, the right eye protection can lessen the severity or even outright prevent 90% of job-related eye injuries that require medical treatment.2
Eyesafe BC is a frequently used program for employers to acquire and supply correctly fitting, prescription safety glasses to their staff. We also supply prescription safety glasses directly to workers who need them. It’s better to work safer.
Computer Vision Syndrome
Computer Vision Syndrome, or digital eye strain, is a group of eye and vision related effects that arise from prolonged use of digital screens. Symptoms include eyestrain, headaches, blurred vision, and dry eyes, and can be made worse by other factors like poor lighting, improper viewing distances, and uncorrected vision problems.
We can give you the tools and strategies you need to minimize digital eye strain.

Sun Protection
Your eyes are just as susceptible as the rest of you to damage from the sun and other sources of UV radiation like welding machines, lasers, and tanning beds.
Short term exposure can have some unpleasant effects like photokeratitis, which is essentially a sunburn for your eyes. Fortunately, you’ll likely only have to deal with the red eyes, tears, gritty feeling, and light sensitivity temporarily as the condition rarely does long term damage, but long-term exposure can have more severe and permanent effects.
Over time, you can develop retinal damage, cataracts, or macular degeneration from overexposure to UV rays, leading to permanently impaired vision or even blindness.
Sunglasses that provide UV-A and UV-B radiation production are the best way to protect your eyes from UV damage. We also provide impact resistant models for athletes and people who work outside.
If you need sunglasses, we can help you find a pair that will work for you and your needs.
Nutrition
Your nutrition can seriously impact your eye health over time, including effecting the development of age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and cataracts.
Dietary studies confirmed the link between frequent consumption of spinach or collard greens and reduced risk of AMD. These vegetables contain significant amounts of lutein and zeaxanthin, which are not only antioxidants but the only carotenoids found in the eye. Nutrients such as vitamin C and E, beta-carotene and zinc have also been proven useful in preventing cataracts and AMD.
We can help you come up with a nutrition plan that will support your eye health.
