We’ve been very busy lately.
And while we love getting to help so many people, our full calendar means we need to prioritize staying on top of our appointments schedule to make sure that patients who need care can get it in a timely manner.
We understand that life can get in the way of even the best of plans. So long as you warn us at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled appointment time, there’s no fee to cancel or reschedule.
However, to reduce wasted exam slots from missed appointments, we’ve put a $50 cancellation fee in place for appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice. That fee would need to be paid before another appointment could be scheduled.
**Please note that insurance providers and government agencies do not cover fees for missed appointments.
Emergency Appointments
As a medical office, sometimes our patients require urgent and immediate eye care.
Someday you might need it too. Having sufficient notice of cancelled appointments allows us to see people with urgent concerns on short notice and ensure they get the support they need. Sometimes that’s an emergency eye exam or something as simple as a new pair of desperately needed glasses when yours are broken. Either way, we want to be here for you.
Late Appointments
If you’re more than 10 minutes late, it can be difficult to see you because of our full schedule.
Living in northern BC, we don’t usually consider weather a valid reason to miss or reschedule an appointment, so please give yourself extra time to make it to your appointment as necessary or call us to warn you’re running behind. We’ll do our best to accommodate you.
